Dreams do die, but what is so beautiful living a life with and for Christ is the redemption the Lord has in store for us not just at the pivotal moment of salvation but throughout our lifetime of growing up with him.
We may lay dreams down at the foot of the cross. Grieve them. Mourn them. Praise God for them. So that we can experience more of him and so that there is space him to redeem those dreams.
I am currently at a crossroads right now with the very home the Lord gave me, as a single woman, to purchase just two short years ago (see Dreams Do Die blog post 8/2/21).
It is on the market for sale right now. I sensed a prompting to put it up for sale at the end of April hoping it would sell quickly so I could move closer toward a wonderful God-fearing man and his 4 children who God so graciously put in my life. All knowing, as the Realtor I am, that the market in my neighborhood is not moving very quickly. I faithfully did it in obedience trusting the Lord would guide me.
And he has. It hasn’t looked quite like I had thought or in the timing of what I laid at his feet, but he is moving and through his kindness and gentleness, I have had one of the best summers of my life adventuring, traveling, resting, swimming and just being in the moments, big and small. I couldn’t have orchestrated it all if I tried. Note: The reason I say one of the best summers is because the other “best” summer was last summer when I got to meet them all.
You see, we, those of us choosing to walk with Jesus, get to experience the love of our Heavenly Father in the most precious of ways when we seek him first. All else fades away when we allow ourselves to follow his plan.
My prayer today for you is that the Lord will reveal to you one step to take. Faithful and obedient. That you can trust it will lead you closer to him. That he will draw you nearer to himself and the community surrounding you giving you confidence in a God who is with you and for you.
“Be seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
-Matthew 6:33
In Jesus name I pray, Amen
Love,
Andrea
