To be engaged to get married. What an incredible blessing. Tears well up as I type those very words. Can it be true? Real? What a journey it has been to this very moment in time. My words have been a little quiet over the past six months or so here on my blog. Honestly, I believe it has been because I have been sifting through my emotions, thoughts and comparing them to the truth of God’s word. Leaning in and listening to my Father as he leads and guides me. Learning to tune out distractions, temptations and anything else that is not of him. Still learning. I know I will be a student for life in this subject. Times of trial. Times of tangle in my heart. Prayer has been my greatest gift/tool. God is teaching me so much. In warp speed. Committed to what he has for me and Kurt and the children. My heart is learning to be open to what it will look like, feel like, be like to become married and unite with a God-fearing man plus his four amazing children. I tell the children all the time how brave they are to have opened and continue to open their hearts to me. I am so grateful for the time the Lord gave all of us to this point and what has already transpired in this beautiful season of engagement. It is only the Lord that could and will do the heart work in all of us to make us look more like him.

Many have thanked Kurt and I for living out the Lord’s will in our lives as a witness to them of what God is doing. Sanctifying them as they watch and hear all of what the Lord has and is continuing to do in us. That my friends, brings tears to my eyes. Me Lord? Us Lord? You do not need us, but you are using us to do your Kingdom work. Your grace is sufficient, for Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. -2 Corinthians 12:9

Do you ever get where you live something out and desperately want to understand God, his voice, his truth, his word? Clinging, asking, begging to understand, to know.  And then in a split second he drops it into your heart. From “knowing” (head) to “KNOWING” (heart). What a gift. I do not know a lot of what is and will be to come as I walk through this season of engagement into marriage and part of a family right away, but God does and I KNOW that I can trust him to lead the way for all of us because I KNOW him! I do ask that the Lord would use our story, every little last bit of it, for HIS glory. Lord, help me to get out of your way. To partner with you. To be open to receiving your grace that is completely sufficient and free because you sent your son, Jesus Christ to die for me. Please help me remember this Lord, so that I can extend your grace to those around me quicker and quicker each and every day.

Blessings my friends ~ Andrea

""My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, most gladly I will boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

-2 Corinthians 12:9
