Vacation Waves

Let the mighty name of Jesus reign in your heart. When the waves come crashing in. The trials are near. Struggles are intense. The only way to ensure peace that surpasses all understanding is to trust in the Lord Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life.

"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." -Philippians 4:7

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones." - Proverbs 3:5-8

That said, one might ask, “but what does that mean?” Or “how can that happen?” Or “how do I do that because I want peace so badly, I can taste it.” Well, my friends, we are sinners in need of a Savior. God is most concerned about your heart. If we turn away from our sins, repent and believe in the Lord God. God will fill you with his Holy Spirit.

Scripture, the truth, the Holy Bible says to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) trusting in the Lord. That indeed is the only way. He is near to you. Did you know, Jesus is even praying for you, interceding? Isn't that so beautiful? If you don’t know if you have received the Holy Spirit, ask. God hears us always! He pursues us and knows when the harvest is ripe.

It’s like this storm I see making its way to shore. Dark clouds, bringing a cooler breeze. I’m not sure but I have a feeling there may be a refreshing rain that comes too (there was). God is intentional in all things. All of his creation. He cares for us so deeply. When the darkness comes, he is near. When the waves crash and the storm rolls in, he never leaves us. And then He gives us refreshment, sunshine, laughter and a rainbow to remind us he will always keep his promises.

I learned about a new characteristic of our Father just recently.

Immutable = unchanging over time or unable to be changed

And yet, God is the cause of all change in our lives because he knows what we need to experience SO THAT we can be changed to look more like him. Sanctified is the word we use in the family of God. He is after our hearts.

Don’t ever for a minute think that God doesn’t care deeply for you. He is the reason you are alive. He knitted you in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). He knows you more intimately than anyone else.

I hope and pray after reading this post, you have the opportunity to reflect. Ask questions. Pray. Wonder who God is. Who Jesus is. Who the Holy Spirit is.
