It is taking a risk to get to know someone.
It is prioritizing time with them.
It is being willing to ask good hard questions and being ready to answer in return.
It is pushing one another toward the Lord.
Laugh and have fun.
It is not about finding someone perfect. In fact, it is the exact opposite.
Finding someone who fills your cup, cheers you on, loves you the way Christ does, makes real mistakes, chooses to walk through life’s ups and downs with you and is willing to keep moving forward.
Someone who figures out and practices loving you in the ways you need. Not always how you want.
It is about laying your expectations down.
Learning to be led by God first so you can see Christ in them.
Trusting in the Lord’s timing.
Surrounding yourself with wise counsel who will point you to the truth, always, even when it is hard and painful.
Seeking the Lord with your whole heart, mind and soul.
Never ceasing to pray.
Being honest.
Asking the Lord to dig out your selfishness and sin.
Ultimately becoming more like Jesus because you are sharpening one another.
Finding you are better together than apart.
